40ft HC Insulated Container
$2,899.00
The 40′ or 12m HC ex-reefer, i.e. decommissioned former refrigerated container, is an excellent solution as an insulated container when you need a container that withstands moisture and heavy use. These containers are former reefer containers used for freight transport, with the refrigeration unit replaced by insulated sandwich panels.

The 40′ HC EX Reefer is an excellent alternative when you need a thermally insulated container. Originally designed for temperature-regulated freight transport, these containers have had their refrigeration units removed and replaced with sandwich panels, transforming them into versatile, thermally insulated storage solutions. The containers are insulated on all sides with strong 40-80mm urethane insulation, ensuring good thermal properties for year-round use without condensation problems. The interior surfaces of EX reefers are made of stainless steel and aluminum, which makes them resistant to moisture and heavy use, and easy to clean with e.g. a high-pressure washer. All our 40′ EX reefer containers are of the raised HC type, with the ceiling approximately 30cm higher than the basic model. The containers come standard with a T-grate floor, allowing water to drain out through outlets near the doors and corners, preventing water accumulation on the floor. We can also equip all ex reefers with a flat floor, making them ideal for use with trolleys and other equipment. The end of the container has standard lockable double doors. We repaint all containers with white color by default but you can also request any exterior color you wish for your container. Lighting, heating, inlets, and shelves are also available as optional accessories. This container is also an excellent base for a custom project container, and works like magic e.g. as a CUSTOM WELDING BOOTH. The containers are suitable for international transport (CSC) and their dimensions meet the relevant ISO standards.

Prepare for a Shipping Container Delivery
- Ensure you have enough space:
- 12ft Width clearance
- 16ft Height clearance- no wires or trees above
- Straight line space needed:
• 75ft – for 1 x 20ft container
• 120ft – for 1 x 40ft container or 2 x 20ft (moved together)
- Check the weather conditions
Weather conditions such as rain or snow can impact delivery. Ensure that the path and container location are dry and firm. - Solid, level ground
Containers need to be delivered on solid, level ground to ensure the doors will open and close properly. - Flat delivery site
It is important that the path leading to the delivery site is a level, flat surface as hills and slopes may cause the tilt body truck to get stuck.

What is the delivery process?
After we receive payment for your container and confirm a delivery date, the truck driver will contact the person listed on your order once the container has been loaded. This call will serve as a notice that the driver is on the way to your location.
Delivery costs vary based on the distance between your location and our storage yard. For an exact quote, please contact our office and we’ll be happy to provide pricing.
How much space is required for delivery?
Delivering a container requires enough space for the tilt-bed roll-off truck to safely position and unload it. The driver tilts the truck bed, allowing the container to slide slowly onto the ground before the truck pulls away.
-
20ft container: Approximately 75ft of straight-line clearance is recommended to accommodate the truck and unloading process.
-
40ft container: Plan for about 110ft of straight-line clearance to ensure the truck and trailer have enough room.
To ensure a smooth delivery, the area should be level, free of obstacles, and easily accessible for the truck to maneuver. Proper planning helps prevent delays and ensures the container can be placed exactly where you need it.
What kind of site preparation is needed?
Can the storage container be placed on railroad ties/landscape timbers?
Yes, railroad ties/landscape timber can be placed under the container to lift it up. The truck driver can help you at time of delivery. Please note, we do not provide the railroad ties/landscape timbers.
Do I need a permit to place a container on my property?
How long does delivery take after ordering a container?
Container deliveries are typically Monday thru Friday. But we do work with some trucking companies who will deliver on the weekend for an extra fee. An authorized representative must be there for delivery.
