Our Story

ExBox Containers Delivers Value, Clarity & Sustainability

Keeping your valuable items safe from water or moisture is a top priority—and it all starts with a reliable container. Our containers are built tough, but like anything exposed to the elements, parts like the seals, doors, and floors can wear down over time. That’s why we’re committed to making sure every container meets high-quality standards before it ever reaches you.

With ExBox’s Standard Quality Guarantee, you can rest easy knowing that every container is carefully inspected by our team of quality experts before it’s made available for sale. Buy quality shipping containers with Wind & Watertight (WWT) Guarantee.

When your container arrives, you’ll do a quick walkaround with the driver and fill out a Quality Inspection Form together. If anything within the scope of our guarantee isn’t up to par, we’ll take care of the repairs at no extra cost to you.

Every container we offer goes through a careful inspection to make sure it’s structurally solid, with properly sealing doors and no leaks—so your storage stays safe and dry. While you might notice a few signs of past travels, like small dents, surface rust, or markings, each unit is built tough and ready for whatever you have in mind. Whether you’re using it for storage, a job site, or a creative build, our WWT Guarantee means you’re getting a dependable, weather-resistant container you can count on.

Just a heads-up: our guarantee follows the guidelines on this page and our general terms and conditions. We’re here to make the process smooth, transparent, and stress-free—every step of the way.

What Is ExBox’s Wind & Water Shipping Container Guarantee?

Our guarantee covers every shipping container purchased from ExBox Containers, ensuring protection against any material or structural defects that could compromise its wind- and watertight integrity. This promise is our way of standing behind the quality of our containers—so you can store, build, or transport with total confidence.

Your Container is Certified Wind & Watertight

At ExBox Containers, we make sure every container we sell meets Wind and Watertight (WWT) standards—so you can confidently store your goods without worrying about leaks or moisture.

Here’s what to expect with our used containers:

  • Surface Rust: It’s completely normal for used containers to have some surface rust. If there are any rusty pinholes or areas where the steel has thinned, we apply durable overlay patches that go beyond the damaged spot. These metal patches are standard in container repair and are securely welded on the outside. For extra protection, a sealant or caulk may be applied on the inside to fully block out moisture.
  • Scratches & Dents: Cosmetic wear like scratches and dents is common. Dents are acceptable under WWT standards as long as they do not exceed 12 inches inward or outward and do not create holes, cracks, or allow any light to pass through.

These containers are built to last, and every unit is inspected to ensure it meets our wind and watertight promise—so you get reliable performance, even from a well-traveled box.

The Container Seals are Intact

  • The door seal gaskets secure the wind and watertightness of the moving door parts of the shipping container.
  • The door gaskets will show no daylight from the interior of the container outward.
The retainer strip holding the door gaskets will be intact and secured.

Solid & Reliable Floors

Every container floor undergoes a thorough inspection to ensure it provides a safe and sturdy foundation for storing and protecting your goods.

  • Flooring will not show holes, especially through to the undercarriage.
  • Delamination may be present but will not exceed multiple layers. The floor should not be “spongy” but may have some rebound when weight is applied.
  • Holes and excessive delamination will be repaired with a wooden or steel plate.
  • Crossmembers are checked in conjunction with flooring. No broken welds should be present.

Door Hardware: Fully Functional and Secure

To keep your container safely closed and protected from the elements, you can expect the door hardware to work reliably:

  • The lock rods should smoothly rotate to engage and disengage the latch cams from their keepers, allowing you to easily lock and unlock the doors.
  • While the rods may show some bending or minor wear, they must remain fully operational for opening and closing the container.
  • The door handle should function properly and be able to fold neatly into its recessed position.

This ensures your container doors provide secure, hassle-free access every time.
